Event Space Redefined
The Fabriek is the newest, as well as, the first Industrial Chic Event & Conference Center in Virginia. Located in the oldest Chartered Town of Virginia, with the additional distinction of being the second leading port during the Colonial times and a rich history going back as far as 1690. The Fabriek, is woman owned and operated. The name translated from Dutch means “The Factory” which reflects both the heritage of the owner’s husband as well as the look and feel of this unique event space which is ”Industrial Chic”, proven to impress your guests and set the stage for separating your event from the masses.
Located in what was originally a roller skating ring, when transforming it into an Event & Conference Center, the owner decided to accentuated the buildings industrial character thereby creating something that is not only unique and memorable, but also versatile. The Fabriek has that “wow” factor & Vibe you normally only find in Washington DC but without the travel time & high cost of hotels and/or parking fees.
With 5,000 sf on the main level and an additional 1,500 sf of VIP styled-space on the mezzanine, The Fabriek's unique character and layout will appeal to both women & men alike. The space is flexible enough that it can be easily adapted to whatever your specifics needs are whether that be traditional, rustic/barn, industrial or some fantasy all your own. This is a space where you can easily have a Reception, Wedding, Club & Music Events, Kids and/or Adult Birthday Parties, a Prom or Military Gala, Bar Mitzvahs or Quinceañeras, Fashion Shows, Holiday Parties, Business Conferences, or Product Launch Party, just to name a few.
Our inaugural event was Dumfries first “Mayor’s Ball” and as Dumfries' Mayor Derrick Woods so aptly said, "The Fabriek is a critical place which will help make Dumfries a place you travel to, not a place you travel through”. No longer will you have to travel to places such as Springfield, Arlington, or Washington, DC. to have your next event because now you have a world class event and conference space right in your back yard.
At the Fabriek, you are in charge of your budget. You can organize your own event, come with your own Event Planner or work with our in-house staff. We also have a preferred Vendor List list that includes Event Planners, Decorators, Caterers, DJ's, etc. Or, if you are interested in over-the-top themed events, the owner can personally work with you directly as well as she has extensive experience in creating unique, over-the-top, immersive, memorable events that you and your guests will talk about for years. We understand that we all work with different budgets and tastes, so you are also allowed to bring your own licensed caterer, etc. for an additional fee. The choice is yours and we will always do our best to work with your budget in mind.
Phase 1 of The Fabriek Event & Conference Center which was completed in the Summer of 2019 consists of a total of 6,500 square feet of event and conference space with 5,000 sf on the main level and an additional 1,500 square feet of VIP space on the mezzanine/balcony level. Once phase 2, 3 and 4 are fully completed, The Fabriek will consist of approximately 17,500 square feet of inside Event & Conference space divided over 3 different, unique spaces, as well as approximately 3,000 square feet of outside patio & reception area and an additional 3,000+ square feet of garden area for photography, etc. We expect this to be completed over the next 2-3 years.
